We use technologically advanced Thermal Imaging cameras to identify buildings heat loss areas.

We then recommend the best solution to fix any problems arising from our Heatseeker surveys, increasing comfort levels and reducing energy costs. Current available grants reduce remedial costs even further.

By pinpointing exactly where expensive heat is being lost, remedial work can be focused on these areas. The condition of existing insulation can also be determined.

Some examples are shown here. One shows where a significant amount of heat is being lost through a wall under a window, with radiator situated under the window internally.

Another shows a dormer window area where significant heat loss has been detected due to a lack of insulation in the dormer side walls and corners.

Thermal imaging can be used for all domestic and commercial buildings heat loss applications

For more information on Allsave Energy Solutions Heatseeker surveys, call Gary Long (085) 832 3281 for a quotation.

Allsave Energy Solutions advises clients on specific measures to improve the comfort levels in their homes and reduce energy costs - here are two case studies involving attic and cavity wall insulation, two of the more popular and beneficial improvements.

Attic Insulation- Maire has a four bedroom detached house, 150m2 (1600 sq ft) in size with an annual heating bill of €1,600. She previously had 100mm of fiber insulation in her attic and decided to upgrade to the recommended 300mm following advise from Allsave Energy Solutions. As well as resulting in more comfortable living conditions, this simple low cost measure now saves Maire over €300 on her home heating bill. She obtained grant aid for this measure to the value of €250. Total costs for this type of upgrade are approximately €800 - €1000 (excluding the grant)

Cavity Wall Insulation- Michael has a four bedroom detached house, 150m2 (1600 sq ft) in size, with an annual heating bill of €1600. Michael previously had no insulation in his cavity walls and was advised to install grey pumped polystyrene beads into his walls following advise from Allsave Energy Solutions. Not only has this resulted in more comfortable living conditions, this simple measure has yielded more than €250 savings in his annual heating bill. Michael secured grant aid of €400 for this improvement measure to help him with the cost of this. Typical costs for this upgrade are approximately €800 - €1000 (excluding the grant)

For more information on grants and how we can help, please call Gary Long of Allsave Energy Solutions on (085) 832 3281

Allsave Energy Solutions has been working with homeowners throughout Ireland, providing valuable energy saving assistance in the home. With our help, homeowners have been maximising their grants potential via SEI’s Home Energy Savings scheme.

“We believe that on average most homeowners who have availed of the scheme and our services are now enjoying up to 40% savings in their annual heating costs” says Gary Long, Managing Director of Allsave Energy Solutions. “Their homes are far more comfortable, heating bills reduced and with the assurance of improved BER rating in conjunction with Allsave Energy’s thermal imaging “Heatseeker” surveys, our clients are guaranteed that the improvement works performed are carried out correctly and will add value to their properties” he added. “The payback period, utilising the available grants (example: 3 bedroom semi detached house, 200mm attic insulation upgrade with full cavity wall fill) is 2 years approximately. Additional measures such as heating controls, DHW cylinder/pipework insulation and draught-proofing will shorten this payback period, improve the Building Energy Rating and further reduce home heat loss and energy costs.”

Speaking at PLAN EXPO Exhibition, RDS Dublin, recently, Mr. Long also added that the SEI HES grants scheme remains open. “We would encourage all homeowners to register and this can be done either on-line at www.sei.ie/hesor by phone on 1850 927 000. The registration process is very straightforward and we understand that approximately €40M remains of the original fund of $100M. While its not known how this fund may be affected by Government budgetary constraints in 2010, we believe that with carbon reductions still very much on the agenda, the overall fund should remain intact for the foreseeable future”

For more information on how you can save money on heating costs today, call Gary Long on (085) 832 3281 for more details on SEI’s Home Energy Savings scheme, Allsave Energy Solutions BER and “Heatseeker” thermal imaging . For more details on what grants are available, click on the “Grants” section of our website.

Allsave Energy Solutions can now provide a complete building Air Tightness testing service. Air tightness testing can play a significant part in reducing space heating requirements. This test reveals air leakage areas in the building envelope prior to full completion. Remedial work can be carried out following which the final air tightness test is completed before occupancy. Details from the final air tightness test are used in the calculation of the building energy rating of the property.

Why Air Tightness ?

1) To comply with revised Building Regulations (ref. Technical Guidance Document, Part L, 2008)

2) Reduced energy costs

3) Protection of building fabric

4) Reduced carbon emissions

5) Increased comfort

Allsave Energy Solutions is a Sustainable Energy Ireland registered, Building Energy Ratings Assessor company. We provide support to homeowners who are interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home in order to reduce energy use, costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The company has recently partnered with Greenloan Ireland, a national home energy saving scheme, originally piloted in Co. Mayo which has now been extended countrywide. It is open to all owners of existing houses. It is administered by Greenloan Ireland and grants are funded under the NDP.

One of the provisions of the scheme is that a Building Energy Rating Assessment must be carried out on the home prior to any work taking place and also has to be updated after the work is completed. The scheme BER assessments are grant aided. This is unlike the alternative, recently announced, SEI Home Energy Saving Scheme whereby the BER Assessment “Before and After” is optional. This can be verified on the SEI Web-site.

The main advantage for the homeowner is that the scheme will complete all the administration and comes with bank financing packages (optional) and full quality assurance. The only initial commitment that the homeowner will have to make is to pay for the “before” and “after” Building Energy Rating Assessment on their home which qualifies for a €200 grant. The homeowner then lets the BER Assessor know what options that they would like to consider. They then receive a quotation from the scheme contractors. The scheme is being organised in clusters led mainly by BER Assessors.

The Scheme has arranged discounted interest rate Energy Saver loans so that the purchaser can spread the cost over a period of time that suits them. Discounted loans are available through the scheme and are provided by Ulster Bank Limited although there are plans to extend this on to the other main banks. Financing is not a requirement of participating in this scheme. More information on the scheme can be obtained by calling Gary Long, Allsave Energy Solutions (085) 832 3281

This mentoring culminates in year end Energy Efficiency in Buildings submittals for final year project purposes.

Speaking at the launch of this important mentoring project in Galway, Gary Long of Allsave Energy Solutions said that the awareness of BER, Thermal Imaging, Display Energy Certificates and Energy Performance Certificates was on the increase. “Its important for students to fully understand Energy Efficiency and Conservation of Energy in buildings as this is now a legal requirement brought about by EU”.

“We are delighted to have been invited to provide mentoring and look forward to seeing all the projects develop over the coming months” he added.

Right now, as much as 25% of the heat you’re paying for could be escaping through an uninsulated roof, 25% through single-glazed draughty windows and 35% through poorly insulated walls. In addition, €9 out of every €13 spent on open fire fuel is lost up the chimney.

With Buildings Energy Ratings regulations now in effect, BER certificates must be submitted by SEI registered Assessors in the case of all new building planning applications and to prospective buyers/tenants for all existing houses/apartments offered for sale or rent.
Allsave Energy Solutions is one of the first companies in Ireland to provide approved dwelling Building Energy Ratings certificates, having been invited to work with Sustainable Energy Ireland on Building Energy Ratings projects on Local Authority grant schemes countrywide.
The new Allsave Energy Solutions Home Energy Survey uses state of the art thermography and thermal images from infra red cameras to immediately pinpoint heat losses through undesirable draughts and air leaks.

Thermal images show where warm air is exiting through construction joints, around window and door frames or escaping into cold attic spaces through loft hatches. The presence of voids in your buildings insulation or if insulation has simply sagged or slumped within cavity walls, timber studs or roof spaces over time, can be safely and accurately detected using thermography.

Our web designer, Brian Joseph Studios, (Naples Web Design) with headquarters in Florida, USA, originally designed our first website back in December 2007. For our first year in business, the website performed well and it was just what we needed to start off with.

Just over one year later, Brian Joseph Studios came to us and recommended that we re-design the website using the latest web design standards and technology. After a meeting with the guys, we decided to go for it. We are now excited to have our brand new website up and running and we look forward to updating it regularly.

Here are some of the features of our new website:

CMS system (Content Management System) - this allows us to completely control the website ourselves, from the text and pictures on each page, to overall design and color scheme. We can also add/edit/delete as many pages as we like.

Blogging Platform - we are now able to post latest news under our “News” section using the simple online editor that Brian Joseph Studios provided to us. This is a great feature that we are really looking forward to utilizing frequently.

Client Login - we now have a private client only access area where we provide each client with access to special documents, energy saving information, and personal account information about their property.

Design - we are delighted with the new design of our site. We wanted it to be friendly, and comfortable but professional. Obviously, we wanted to use “green” imagery and we think Brian Joseph Studios really captured the look we were hoping for.

Logo and Identity - along with the new website, they developed a completely new identity and brand for Allsave Energy Solutions. Our new logo is ready to take us into 2009 and will allow us to grow and expand as the months go by.
